Finished!!

I could sit here and pick at this painting for hours but I think it is finished. I wasn't setting out to do a high detailed painting or anything, just something that I could do to practice working in photoshop.  This image took me a total of 8 hours to do. I worked on it for about 2-3 hours a night for the past few nights before bed just so that I could do something with my day besides 3D work. I am pretty please with the results.

Cooper (my dog) likes the fact that he is now immortalized in a painting..... I think it is getting to his head

Anyways, its late and I am finished for the day.

Progress Update

I still have a little bit more to go but here is what I have done so far. My only fear is that I am painting on a brighter screen and the colors are off but I will fix that near the end of the painting.

New Project

So like all pet owners I have a great love for the animal that I share my life with.  SO I figured what a better way to practice my traditional art skills then to paint my dog! haha.  I am going to be posting the progress when I can so stay tuned.

Here is the progress that i have made so far.

After looking at both images I decided on this one. I added a few rocks under the water just to give it a feel that it was a lake bottom along with a small amount of color correction in photoshop. I didnt want to add to much to the image because I thought that "less is more."

Sometimes in life the simplest of things are the most beautiful.

Work in Progress

So years ago I came across a picture of the reflection of a few blades of grass protruding out of water. It was a simple picture, but the way that it was taken stuck with me. For years I have been a nature photographer hobbist and I thought that I could merry my love for photography and 3D together by recreating that image that has stuck with me for so long.

The only problem is, I have created two different versions of that image and I can't decide on which one I like the best. However the first image is more of what the picture looked like and the second seems to have a little bit more interest to it.

Tell me what you think.....

C3PO

I have been working on this on and off for a while and finally decided to finish it. Mainly because Dragon Con is now over and I was surrounded by Star Wars characters all weekend and I need to work on something Star Wars related... haha

Enjoy!

Updated VUE Render

I wasn't really happy with the last render that I did so I worked on the clouds a little bit more and I think I am happy with it now. After the render was finished I did a few tweaks in both Lightroom and Photoshop just to clean up the image.

Tell me what you think!

Enjoy!
